  1. What if it were easy?
  2. Treat yourself with love.
  3. Life is a battle against the status quo
  4. Be one person. Don’t be anything else for anyone.
  5. Do it now. Don’t wait. Don’t procrastinate. The winners in this world are not the ones who find the greatest excuses to put off doing what they know will make them more money. The winners are the ones that prioritize and seize the day.
  6. More people have less money than less people have more money.
  7. Be aggressive. Act like you have one year to make it work before you give up and try something else. What haven’t you done? Where aren’t you being aggressive enough? Go do it and embarrass yourself with your pushiness- after all, you’ll be doing something else in a year anyway, so who cares what people think?
  8. Make decisions with somewhere around 70% of the information you wish you had.
  9. The point of being done is not to finish but to get other things done
  10. You will become known for doing what you do.
  11. Begin anywhere.
  12. Push until you feel uncomfortable, and then double it
  13. Get fast, really fast at making and recognizing your mistakes.
  14. No matter what your station in life, stride through the world without apology or excuse.
  15. Be better than the alternative.
  16. Goal-oriented action.
  17. The goal is to make a profit
  18. The most important thing you can do when faced with adversity is to stay on your grind.
  19. Always keep two in the kitty
  20. Breaks are rare; Take them while you’ve got them
  21. Does this make the boat go faster?
  22. Conversations first, automation later
  23. If you can’t beat them, infiltrate their group, learn how they act, gain their trust and destroy them from the inside
  24. You left without trying? You never know if you don’t try.
  25. Secrecy prevents innovation; sharing fosters it
  26. Build a community. No matter what you make, it will become part of someone’s identity, and if you can help them share that identity with others, that identity will become a community. And connecting with other people is the most important thing we can do. It’s where babies come from! People will gladly pay you for that service.
  27. Any teaching should serve to (1) establish your credibility or (2) increase the student’s awareness of the problem the fix solves
  28. Be the first to celebrate your own successes. “If I ain’t cheering for me, why would anyone else?:
  29. In the long term, win. In the short term, if possible, win in some sense.
  30. Direct response (marketing), copywriting, ability to write, and public speaking are all superpower skills. Learn one along with a career skill and you’ll be in demand. Learn two or three or four and you can become massively in demand.
  31. Race to the top is how do I become the most trusted, how do I become the most distinctive, how do I become the most ethical? If you do those things, you win just as well but it’s not obvious how to get there. You need to think hard.
  32. You have to say, “How do we make it different from the others so that it is remarkable?” Then you say, “How do we make it for the smallest possible audience?” That part takes discipline but when I think about the magic of an internet company or a telecom company, what do they do for a living? They connect us to other people, something we desperately want.
  33. You need to plan the way a fire department plans. It cannot anticipate where the next fire will be, so it has to shape an energetic and efficient team that is capable of responding to the unanticipated as well as to any ordinary event.
  34. Are you trying new ideas, new techniques, and new technologies, and I mean personally trying them, not just reading about them?
  35. Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity
